Received the following example via email:

I had billing, say $1000, last July for Jack’s BBQ. In August, Jack’s was shifted to another rep, so the billing history went to that rep and was removed from my history. However, that was money I counted and was paid commission on last year, now missing this year. I need to “make up” the loss, but without having the history remaining for sales strategic planning, I can’t make an equal bottom line comparison year-to-year. If I billed it, I need to see it and have it included in my history. I need to be able to say “I had Jack’s BBQ last year, but now it’s not my account, but here is the now missing billing potential.”

Can you provide a bit more information around this? Not sure what problem you're trying to solve or the scenario that is happening.

    Thanks!

Have you tried the new Account Profile pages? We redesigned them with speed in mind.

In your example, you could use the Summary tab to see the fully story on what has happened with an account.

Just need to see notes? Filter the summary tab down to show notes. They will display fully expanded and ready to read.

Is the account still on your account list after the 12 months or are accounts w/o billing after 12 months moved to some type of "inactive billing" or "house" holding place salesperson that anyone can freely pick from and pick up a new account?

If it is still on your account list, that's where I do not understand request. In Matrix, the account type of "billing" simply means it has revenue sometime in the past, this account will show up on the Multi-Year Sales History report for example.

Prospect or Lead status simply mean it does NOT have billing and will not show up on a report such as the Multi-Year Sales History report.

Would love to chat about this over the phone if you're willing to spend some time.

    Please let me know!

There is currently no way to change an account status within Matrix from Billing to Prospect.

To me, the experience feels rather awkward actually. I'm having a member of our support team contact you to review your situation. If you wouldn't mind, could you explain to them why you would want to do this or even reply back with a comment of your own to here?

Better understanding unique customer needs like this helps us plan for the future when choosing which features and enhancements to take on.

    Thanks!

7 unique users have voted on this topic so far so let's get an active discussion going about this. Please chime in as we cannot build this without your input!

Because this is an enterprise database, the ability to do this is a bit limited. Your changes could impact another user's data across the country. In many cases, that's not beneficial to everyone.

What if there was a way to only clean up the information that was unique to your business world. Ex: Tom's Hardware Store only bills on WAAA. Tom's Hardware and Handyman Services only bills on WAAA. You are a manager with access to WAAA. Because it does not exist anywhere else, you can safely merge these two accounts together without impacting anyone else's view of the world.

We could do the same for Agencies too.

You could also take regional accounts/agencies and merge them into National names such as Honda of Pittsburgh could safely be merged into Honda Dealers as long as Honda of Pittsburgh only billed in WAAA (the outlet that you have access to). You could NOT go the other way around though and merge Honda Dealers (billing on 15 outlets) into Honda of Pittsburgh because that would impact users across the country.

Let me know your thoughts on this idea. We've been pitching it around the office for a few weeks now and would really like to try and implement this sometime after Q1, but it doesn't mean this is the right way to do it. Q1 is currently full on features/enhancements so the sooner we can hash this out the better chance we'll get it rolling sooner!

    Thanks!

Can you provide a little more information on where you think this would be beneficial?

Are you requesting this for salespeople to be able to use or for a manager to be able to use on the AE Scorecard pages?

    Thanks!

Alright, I think I understand your business needs better now.

I'd suggest creating a separate feedback item for the account list exporting, though. We tend to try and keep our feedback topics focused to one potentially releasable item at a time in order to decrease complexity and increase the chances of releasing content :)

Thanks for getting back to us!

I completely understand the importing of notes. Sounds pretty cool!

I am a little foggy on the exporting of notes. What plans would you have for exported notes? How would you prefer to get them out of matrix?

Would love to hear a little more about this.

    Thanks!
