I find that when I export a reps account list into Excel, the way Matrix exports the date for billing and activities combines the month and year into one field. It makes it impossible to sort the list by date as a result. Excel or Numbers will simply sort by the first digit so all the January events will be grouped together - regardless of the year. If I need to sort a list by any dates I have to create a second column and enter either the month digit or the year digits and then resort. Having the date sort as one field for month and one field for year would be super swell.
Glad we could help! Excel can be a fickle beast :)

That worked for me also. Must just be something in the way I chose to sort. What I was getting was a sort by month that listed January events, followed by October and then February. because the months are 01, 10 and 02 and it reads the "10" as a "1" first. Your method seems to clean that up. Thanks for the tip!

I am not experiencing any issues with sorting in Excel. I clicked onto the column that I wanted to sort (such as Last Billed) clicking the Data menu, chose Sort, accepted the prompt to expand my selection to the full data set, and then chose the Last Billed column to sort on doing an Oldest to Newest sort which Excel selected by default.
It then sorted by Year and secondary sorted on the month. When I looked to sort on the Activity columns then it performed a tertiary sorting on the day as expected.
What version of Excel are you using?
